A therapeutic, Ofsted good rated and ‘family owned’ fostering provider are looking for a Supervising Social Worker to join their team. This role is fully home based.

Carers are located primarily across the Cambridgeshire / Peterborough regions.

The caseload is low – up to 8 carers

All foster parents attend a 12-week therapeutic parenting training course; carer caseloads are stable with highly experienced carers and the majority are long term placements.

This role is also supported by an excellent and supportive manager.

Overview of role and responsibilities:

• To provide support and supervision to foster carers
• To work closely with any agencies and all staff to match children to families
• To assess and provide training to foster carers as per the needs assessed in a reactive and proactive manner
• To actively assess applicants offering to care for children on behalf of the Agency, case load permitting.
• To attend and produce reports for fostering panel meetings as necessary.
• To carry out an annual review of Foster families
• To support and attend a foster carer support group as needed.
• To contribute to the development of the fostering service
• Be willing to work flexibly including evening and weekend work, when required, within the duty rota system or in emergencies: OOH is 1 week in 6

You will be / have:

• A qualified social worker

• A relevant social work qualification
• SWE registration
• Good experience across children’s services
• Prior experience within an IFA would be an advantage
• A car owner / driver

Salary is £40,000 – £44,000 experience dependent + 45ppm, with a good holiday allowance and other benefits including a contributory pension scheme and paid sick pay.
