Supervising Social Worker

A highly ethical, established, family owned not for profit ’ IFA require a Supervising Social Worker to join their team, supporting a low carer case load across the East of England / Cambridgeshire.

 

 

The carer case load is capped at 8 carer families.

 

This highly ethical, child focused and non profit centred IFA, have a pledge to support young people who have been placed permanently with Foster Carers approved by the agency until they reach the age of 27, through their leaving care programme.

 

They believe children should grow up in a safe and caring environment; foster Carers should have an opportunity to have reflective and meaningful support and supervision, this is why they make a commitment to you to keep caseloads low and support opportunities high

 

Brief overview of role and responsibilities:

 

  • To provide support and supervision to foster carers – low case load
  • To work closely with any agencies and all staff to match children to families
  • To provide training to foster carers as per the needs assessed in a reactive and proactive manner
  • To attend and produce reports for fostering panel meetings as necessary.
  • To carry out an annual review of Foster families
  • To support and attend a foster carer support group as needed.
  • To contribute to the development of the fostering service
  • To act, if required, as a member of Foster Care panel
  • To carry out a Form F as and if required
  • Be willing to work flexibly including evening and weekend work, when required, within the duty rota system

 

You will be / have:

 

  • A qualified social worker
  • SWE registered
  • Good experience across children and families social work such as LAC / CWD / CIC
  • Good knowledge of all relevant regulations and legislation
  • Experience of working in a fostering team – ideal not essential
  • A car owner / driver and be prepared to travel across the region

 

Salary is £37,500 (fostering experience dependant) + benefits
