A leading, not for profit, provider of independent support for foster carers, require a Fostering Allegations / Advisor to join their team.
This is a permanent role and home based, with monthly travel required to their Birmingham office.
Part time / job share opportunity may be considered.
This organisation focuses solely on supporting foster carers; they listen to and understand their service users, working in partnership with foster carers and providers to develop services. They ensure that they offer a flexible, responsive approach that best meets the needs of foster carers and the children in their care
You will be an experienced qualified fostering social worker (2 years min PQE), with good practical knowledge of the fostering sector, with particular refence to the carer allegations process / support and all relevant fostering legislation:
You will have an excellent understanding and knowledge of:
- Current legislation, regulations and National Minimum Standards
- The recruitment and assessment of foster carers
- The role of the IRM
- The role of the IRO
- Advocacy for looked after children
- Special guardianship orders
- The carer allegation process – essential
This is a unique opportunity to utilise your skills and experience gained across fostering services to support both carers and prospective carers, providing both invaluable guidance and advice; you will have a professional approach and an excellent telephone manner.
The role offers a 35-hour working week with a great work / life balance !
This role offers an excellent opportunity to move away from case carrying into a role that offers a fixed working week, whilst utilising relevant fostering knowledge and skills. There is no out of hours requirement for this role.
Salary is to £38, 000 FTE + excellent benefits
